The Future of Augmented Reality
Computer Vision & The Mobile Web
Augmented Realty is currently making waves within the interactive marketing field, but with rapid development in Smartphones and mobile networks, ARs fully immersive potential is yet to be realised.
At this stage of 'early adoption', there is not yet a widespread awareness of just how significantly AR will influence daily life. Hidden's innovation team have produced conceptual material to communicate how we forsee computer vision and the mobile web becoming integrated, bringing to us a world of possibilities via our mobile devices.
Concepts were devised to demonstrate potential applications for retail, food and drink and interior design, each depicted by photographic storyboards. The images show how products can be selected and intelligently rendered onto the physical environment in real-time.
The clothing retail images forecast computer vision that accurately tracks the human torso so that clothes can be tried on virtually, whilst a digital catalogue of alternate products becomes available to browse and purchase from. Food and drink concepts include avatars seen through a device that can be programmed to navigate and record orders, and the future for interiors could see items selected from an online catalogue virtually rendered into the room.
Hidden CEO, Matt Trubow, outlines future applications in detail in the below video.
