QPC supports 'Borderless Technology' at ISMAR 2010
As this year’s ISMAR (IEEE International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality) commences, QderoPateo Communications highlighted their commitment to developing the integration of Augmented Reality and the mobile web. QPC was confirmed last week as the 'Diamond' sponsor to the four-day event in Seoul, which this year focuses on borderless augmented and mixed reality.
In assuming the position of lead sponsor for ISMAR, QPC cited support, education and improved standards as vital components in realising the full potential of 'borderless' AR and MR (Mixed Reality), along with their own technological advancement -ANW (Articulated Naturality Web).

Mixed Reality and Augmented Reality herald a new kind of user interface that promise to significantly impact industry, society and daily life. ANW fuses the Mixed Realities and the Internet together, including video scene feature identification, image processing, multi-sensor coordination, real-time positioning and other fields of advanced computer vision related technologies.
"We see ISMAR 2010 as an opportunity to play a key role in the development of the Augmented Reality industry and be a partner that can assist in the development of ideas and best practices throughout the world of computer vision," said Steve Chao, CEO of QderoPateo Communications. "We look forward to growing our relationships with the academics and researchers that have played such pivotal roles in building the industry to where it is today."
ISMAR 2010 featured speakers, workshops, lab demonstrations and an exhibition, as well as programs in the arts, media and humanities. The events were aimed at fostering new ideas and solving challenges related to the broad application of AR and MR. As part of the symposium, a competition in AR and MR tracking systems will also be held.
Matt Trubow, CIO of QPC said “Understanding the full capabilities of this technology is only part of the challenge – we need to simultaneously look to standardise the technology and level the playing field if we’re to see it successfully brought into mainstream use.”
Matt, representing QPC in Seoul, concluded: “Given that QPC has just established the World ANW Forum to evolve the understanding and application of Articulated Naturality, we felt that backing ISMAR was a critical next step.
Matt was present to be share his views on the future of AR in the AMH Industry Panel on October 15th alongside mutual industry experts:
- Qualcomm: Jay Wright
- Nokia: Sean White
- Samsung: IKHWan Cho
- Metaio: Tobias Eble
